Priory Woods School
This school site contains free educational resources available to use in schools or at home. There is a range of cause and effect programmes, counting songs and talking story books. Resources can be used online or downloaded.
SEN Teacher Resources
Resources, freeware downloads, links and documents for those involved in the education of pupils with learning difficulties, autism and other special educational needs.
SENSwitcher (Northern Grid for Learning)
This is a free download of a switch operated program for cause and effect, switch building, targeting and scanning. There are accompanying notes and checklists for the program.
Widgit
The creators of Writing with Symbols! Free symbol supported learning materials, symbol stories and support for communication and language. Many resources are now in PDF format and can be used without Widgit products.
Clicker Grids
If you own Clicker you should visit this site. It contains hundreds of free grids for use with Clicker 5. Registration is required – but this is also free.
Sensory Stories
Pete Wells from Portland School has created a range of sensory stories, some funny, some downright disgusting! The stories come complete with PowerPoint presentations and comprehensive instructions. PowerPoint XP and a sense of humour are required!

This area of the CBeebies web site uses Makaton symbols and signs to support a range of activities.

A free web site for symbol readers. This site contains regularly updated news
stories in addition to a learning section that supports the curriculum, stories
and contributions from readers.
Ask Ability
A symbol website containing news, games, books, jokes and more from the Children’s Society.
Adapted Books from the New York City Department of Education (Special Education District 75)
These adapted books contain symbols and are in pdf, PowerPoint or Writing with Symbols format that can be downloaded / printed.

The National Deaf Children’s Society

The RNIB website has lots of useful information on how to make all reading material - books, websites, learning resources - more accessible to the visually impaired.
National Library for the Blind
The library is a registered charity providing reading of all kinds in Braille (including music), Moon and large print. It is concerned with bringing reading materials, art information, literature and entertainment to visually impaired people across Britain and around the world. Braille and Moon are lent post free to individual readers in the UK; large print through public libraries.

Skill is a national charity promoting opportunities for young people and adults with any kind of disability in post-16 education, training and employment across the UK.
